I'm sure this does not make any difference. If the slocate cron causes
system slowdown, something else is wrong in your system. I run slocate
on hundreds of thousands of files stored on HP StorageWorks arrays
(840 GB per array, 3 arrays per server) and it has never caused any
problem for me.
