But you can definitely use KGPG bundled with KDE. or GPG at the
command prompt.

Yes Enigmail provied a seemless integration between Thunderbird and
GPG I've just implemented this in my office recently without much
issues. If you are using windows you need GPG CLI for windows.

Lot's of people were asking for Enigmail help, and I was pointing them to 
Google :P

BTW, I managed to integrate GMail + Thunderbird + Enigmail without any problems.
