Hi
I have an Intel P4 machine with mercury motherboard which I got in 2004,
It has 1GB DDR1 with no other features, Recently I connected a 1080P LED
monitor to it.
This machine would not install any of the linux distros except for Debian
6.0.1 or RHEL5 :-( and the response from the computer is also very
sluggish.
I asked for suggestion in ILUG-C meeting and as per the advise
1. I did try to reduce the resolution size to 1024x768 it did take away
some amount of sluggishness however mp4 videos are not playing on it.
2. I even installed xfce as per the suggestion and tried to play the video
still the same result.
Is there some way by which I can fix this ? How can I find out what is
wrong or is that machine really that old ?
