Just to put things in perspective ;-)

Paul Graham has a really inflated view of his talents .. and seems to believe
bayesian filtering is a cure all for spam.

I was in boston in late 2003 .. I and a few friends went to a "meet the 
expert"
type meeting he was speaking at, and asked him a few questions he wasn't too
happy with ..

Like ? Just Curious, you know. That kind of anecdotal evidence leaves
you wondering ...

Bayesian spam filtering was a big improvement, though it may not be an
answer to all questions - But then, which technology is an answer to
every problem ? Achievers like Paul Graham usually tend to have
inflated egos and hold forth on a range of topics, many of which they
know nothing about  and push their own agendas. Eric Raymond's essay
on "How to become a Hacker" is a great example.   It's for the
discerning reader/listener to winnow th chaff from the corn.
