While on the topic of Einstein's mistake am intrigued by the following
statement by Prof C.K Raju :
"On my "epistemic test", Einstein's conceptual mistake is proof that
he copied from Poincare".
More can be found at ckraju.net. Am not a mathematician and do not
understand how solid an argument CKRaju has! Can Prof KHP enlighten
us! Assuming he has the time and inclination :-)
WHatever the case, his book 'Cultural Foundations of Mathematics
(Pearson Longman, 2007)' makes very good reading. Gives a completely
new view of the history of maths.
