But is it _the right way_? Of course, I am happy with this, but
still...
it is... for fs's with a permission infrastructure, the best way to
give permissions is to use it. however, there's an alternative if you
just want to change the permissions for the current mount without
touching the filesystem (say u have to put it as ro, and have to give
read permissions otherwise not possible). try the fuse bindfs
filesystem, and enhanced userspace version of `mount --bind`
