I must give credit to our work model that we have
followed in continuing our GNU/Linux
workshops/seminars. I have observed this in two
colleges, so far:
[1] Kongu Engineering College, Erode.
Arvind Kalyan (final year, CSD), made the initiative
along with the support of the faculty/management in
bringing about the usage and awareness of GNU/Linux.
Now that you are in your final semester, the juniors
are ready to take over. Our next planned event:
1/ April/May - two day workshop for faculty/staff
2/ Next semester - ECE/EEE/Mechatronics on "GNU/Linux
Software for Electrical Engineers".
I am also seeing the above model at:
[2] Anna University, College of Engineering, Guindy,
Chennai.
Sridhar R (final year CSD) was very active and his
contribution is valuable. Now Prashanth Mohan is
taking over the responsibility. Good work guyz.
As ilugc coordinators, we will continue to interact
with student coordinators or faculty/staff
coordinators in continuing the workshops every
semester, every year.
Looking forward to this weekend's workshop, Saturday,
March 12, 2005, in association with IEEE Chapter,
Crescent Engineering College, Chennai for CSD, EEE,
Mechatronics departments.
