This month, we had good talks about Scilab, MultiFlow and CollabNet
Subversion Edge.
Dhanushkodi [ dhanush AT techpassiontech DOT com ], CEO of TechPassion
(www.techpassiontech.com), demonstrated about SciLab.
Scilab is an open source, cross-platform numerical computational
package and a high-level, numerically oriented programming language.
It can be used for signal processing, statistical analysis, image
enhancement, fluid dynamics simulations, numerical optimization, and
modeling and simulation of explicit and implicit dynamical systems.
MATLAB code, which is similar in syntax, can be converted to Scilab.
Scilab is one of several open source alternatives to MATLAB.

He demonstrated on solving the maths equations, visualizing and its
engineering toolkits.
He explained how it can be used as alternate to MATLAB in the
organizations and colleges.
His organization uses SciLab heavily to solve the engineering problems.

Suki Venkat, [ suki.venkat AT gmail DOT com ], working in TNQ Books and Journals
Pvt Ltd, Chennai, demonstrated his Free Open Source Software "MuLTiFlow".
This XUL application can be used both as astandalone and as a Firefox addon.
The editor can handle Math (MathML) and Graphics (SVG) markup and also
has a input mechanism for UTN28 (modern version of TeX).
The editor has a locale switch for 11 languages.
The code can be downloaded from the following SourceForge URL:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/multiflow/
It is under GPL v3 license.
As the original author, Suki explained all the features.
Most of the WYSIWYG editors available in open source lack in unicode
font rendering.
As MuLTiFlow is based on Mozilla Firefox, it shows all the fonts as
shown in browser.
We can use this application, to design/develop the web pages and for publishing.

Jeyanthan, a Technical Engineer working for CollabNet, explained about
the Free Open Source Software "Subversion Edge" by CollabNet.
CollabNet Subversion Edge includes everything you need
to install, manage and operate a Subversion server. It includes all

server. It also integrates the popular ViewVC repository browsing
tool so that users can view repository history from a web browser.
