Actually, this is caused by a nasty bug called Windows 2000. Just get
rid of it and GRUB should detect your FreeBSD installation just fine.

But seriously, how on earth is GRUB supposed to know that you installed
FreeBSD? Magic :-)??? R the `Booting' section of TF GRUB M for what to
do to your grub.conf to boot FreeBSD from GRUB. BTW, what you get to see
at boot time is not GRUB but just a menu interface to GRUB. The
difference is enormous, you know ;-) !
