In the url http://www.microsoft.com/india/getthefacts/ , if you look
at the TCO graphs, it is mentioned that windows server 2003 support
cost for 5 yrs is much less compared to the redhat linux 3.
what i feel is that, redhat sells only the support and the licensing
cost for the software because it uses FOSS in it. whereas, in case of
windows support, the customer need to pay licensing fee every year +
one time 5 yr support fees.
in that case, how come the windows TCO becomes lower than redhat support?
