Hi balaji,
Thank you for the input. But I am sure that only the largest partition(131gb)
was selected and formatted while installing. That is the option i selected too.
I am as good as dead if i cannot recover the data. I thought ubuntu was going
to behave the same way as it was behaving before.
Any thoughts over this?
Thanks,
Manoj kumar

Hi manoj,
I think you have formatted the whole harddisk & installed ubuntu.
This seems
different from the previous installations of the ubuntu which never
gave me this problem.
First time you just installed ubuntu as a software in your windows
machine so no problem came to you, But next time you installed the
ubuntu in your harddisk (here you have formatted the whole hard disk
into ext3/ ext4).
I dont know how to backup data from a formatted disk, someother here can
help you.

Balaji sivanath
