Hi,can
Some time back, there was only Win98 in my machine.
I installed redhat Linux 7.2 in the Windows Filesystem itslef(FAT32).
That is, without creating any separate partition for Linux. The whole
Linux would sit as a large single file in Windows and that large file
be seen through the Windows explorer itself. If I want to load Linux, Iin
will insert the boot floppy of linux(which I created during
installation). Otherwise the system will load Windows 98.
Presently I have a system with 40 gb hard disk and windows 2000 loaded
it. The hard disk is partitioned as 4gb, 18 gb and 18 gb. (Thefilesystem
is NTFS in windows 2000 I guess).got
I want to install any distro of linux in the current machine which has
windows 2000.The problem is that, I cannot and dont want to repartitionmy
hard disk(Dont want to use third party tools like partition magic too).this
So, I want to install linux with / in windows 2000 as I had installed
with the machine which was having Win98(As in the first paragraph of
mail).file
I think most of the distros does not support to be installed in NTFS
partition.
If anybody knows any distro which can be installed as a single large
in Win 2000 and can be booted through floppy disk(without modifyingmaster
boot record) please tell me.
(Correct me if any of my understanding is wrong).
Thanks and regards
carti
