Using Gimp, how can I increase the clarity of a scan of a printout? The
printout is of a black-and-white text document in a serif font, and the
paper is somewhat faded. I tried the Threshold function but the result is
not very good.
I do this:
1. Scan using Kooka
2. Open it in Gimp
3. Play with Color -> Levels and Color -> Curves so that I get a
histogram that has peaks near Zero and 255 (two highs at both the
extremes). Sometimes, I play with contrast as well.
4. Print.
