[Ilugc] Gimp question

I do this:

1. Scan using Kooka
2. Open it in Gimp
3. Play with Color -> Levels and Color -> Curves so that I get a
histogram that has peaks near Zero and 255 (two highs at both the
extremes). Sometimes, I play with contrast as well.
4. Print.

4. Create a new (reqd. paper size) document in Scribus
5. Insert the image into the page
6. Export as PDF
7. Email the PDF for printout.

If there is a easier method, I would be happy to listen. I found Gnome
Scan2PDF utility as not so user friendly and lacked customization
facilities.
