Curious why you say that. Sourceforge is still on CVS,
what do you mean? the sourceforge project is on cvs? or that with
sourceforge, you only have cvs as a vc option? (the latter is not true).
If you mean the sourceforge code is not on cvs, well, I do not know about
the validity of that statement, but even so, its just a choice people
make. But am sure its not a conscious happy choice... (cvs is almost
no-more-dev nowadays, so many bugs and so little done on them, oh, wont I
miss directory versioning and atomic commits on CVS?)... its just a matter
of time...

any authoritative references that show a large-scale migration to SVN?
Sure, the following are some of the major projects that have migrated....
gcc
kde
openoffice (
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/SVNMigration)
gnome is migrating (they are facing some date-version issues during
conversion)
sourceforge provides svn as an option too....

http://sourceforge.net/docs/E09/en/) just that they cant force every
project into svn...
I forget where... but sometime in mid-2005, I read a survey which
indicated that svn has overtaken cvs in terms of number of opensource
projects using it.
Again, svn is meant to be all that cvs is, plus more.... am only
surprised that you are contesting my statement... its more of a 'as a
matter of fact' than a revolutionary statement that I made.... :)
Feel free to engage me in a dialouge if you strongly feel otherwise.
