Hello, Jeff et al. This is one last ping/reminder about the release
of Subversion 1.0 this coming Monday, Feb. 23rd.
We don't know how bad the Slashdot effect will be, but it's safe to
say tigris.org will be getting more hits than usual on Monday and
Tuesday.
I wasn't sure where to send this to let the right people in Ops know,
so I've CC'd this to dev@scast-vc and patrol23@engineering. Is there
anything special we should do to tigris.org to make it happier on
Monday, and does Ops need any special warning about this? (If so,
what address is best? I didn't want to accidentally make anyone's
pager go off by sending an email to the wrong place...)
We talked once about "staticizing" some pages, but I'm not sure how
hard that is nor exactly what it gains us for things like the front
page. Perhaps it would be useful for the Downloads -- the source
tarball subversion-1.0.0.tar.gz will be appearing in this folder:
http://subversion.tigris.org/servlets/ProjectDocumentList?folderID=260
...which is, clearly, a servlet.
Thoughts?
