That is Linux kernel version. By platform, I meant target platform -

If you enable them as module (M) in the kernel config, simply doing
make in the kernel sources will re-build them, and you can transfer
just the modules on the target platform, and test them.
If you make them built-in to the kernel, you will need to re-install
the kernel, and use it during every test.
