My Guess is, one of your installed extension is buggy. Few days back i had
some different problem where in whenever i selected extensions or options
menuitem from tools menu , it creates an invisible modal window and i
cannot click anywhere in the application window, and it renders the whole
browser as useless. I am sure it was caused by any some buggy extension
(at that time i had nearly 10 extensions, few were useless).
Here two things can possibly done.
1. open you browser in safemode. Here the browser will disable all your
extensions. Now try using update.
2. If it still creates problem, the last resort is to reinistall your
firefox again. But be sure to do this after reinstalling,
1. First unistall the firefox
2. copy your bookmarks.html and pref.js from your personal profile
folder to some safe place
3. delete your personal profile folder and the main application
folder (for example, at c:\Program files\Mozilla Firefox)
4. Install the firefox application
5. Install you favourite but trusted extensions

Hello All,
I am using Firefox 1.0.4, Windows XP Home Edition. When I have first
installed it was working fine. But nowadays, when I click the update
icon, it shows the
XML Parsing Error:
Location: chrome://mozapps/content/update/update.xul
Line Number 17, Column 16:
title="&updateWizard.title;"
--------------^
Similar type of error occured when i click some of the submenus under
Tools menu like Downloads,Extensions,Themes.
Please someone help me in this regard.
Thanks,
