Hi,
I faced this "blue screen " while installing Ubuntu 10.04. I remember a
small change in my BIOS "harddrive settings" corrected it . But if you
already have an OS in the Hdd then this change may cause a boot failure.
Regards,
JK

You have got a fairly new hardware so I would suggest stick with the
latest versions.(Ubuntu 10.04 might be ancient for your hardware)
try "acpi=off" and/or "noapic" as kernel boot parameters with Kubuntu
and Fedora.
It might be that the CD/DVDs were burned with Nero in a M$ windows.
There are many related reports about that.
