Hello,
NEW for product: Intel(R) C++ Compiler for Linux*
I remember readin on /. long time back that it was finally possible to
compile the kernel with this one (aggresive optimization), but has anyone
actually tried this?
I have not tried it, but I believe an extensively patched 2.4.18 has
been built using this compiler. Patches were necessary mainly to make
up for lack of support of GNU extensions to C like inline assembly,
nested functions, attributes for declrations etc.
But Intel calls these patches as "temporary" meaning they are
continuing to remove/reduce them.
