Hi everyone! I hope you have all had a good start to 2011 and have an exciting year ahead of you. Anyways, PRSC and CEAC (I think... previously EBC) have both decided to partner with CEC for another Ignite Ball. Last year was a first for all of us and it turned out very successful, so we should have a bigger and better ball this year. At the moment I have Nicola on this mailing list representing CEAC and Jane for PRSC. I have deleted all other people that were involved last year so when you both know who will be the second person representing your club in the Ignite Ball Committee, let me know their email and I can add it to the list. For CEC we have two people new to organising the Ignite Ball, Troy and Tim. Technically each club is supposed to have only two reps and I screwed up here. But as I'll be more of a guide this year as opposed to a full on member, CEC will still only have 2 votes on the committee. This is my final year so I'll be teaching these guys how to do this job. Our 2011 CEC President is also on this mailing list (Daniel) but only to keep him informed of our discussions and he may attend a few meetings here and there and input into our discussions. He does not have a formal vote though. Down to business. Joseph from Challenge Stadium has already contacted me this year, and I have organised a meeting for Thursday, March 3rd at 2PM. This meeting will be at uni at the Vege Patch Cafe (near Elizabeth Jolley). If too many people can't make it, it can be changed. However, before the meeting with Joseph, I'd really like to have an initial Committee meeting just so we can introduce everyone involved and starting discussing theme options and also discuss what each club wants to get out of this partnership this year. This would probably best be held either in O-Week or in Week 1, some time prior to our Joseph meeting. I'll make a doodle thingy so we can scope out everyones availability and preferences. Lastly, CEC has already begun brainstorming theme ideas with these ones being my favourite so far: Narnia, Wizard of Oz and Neverland. Funny that they all have the same base theme of childhood stories... Feel free to throw around your own ideas to the mailing list. We won't decide on a theme until after our discussion with Joseph. So yeh, time to get excited I suppose!
