The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is moving forward to repeal the 2015
Clean Water Rule (WOTUS). This is the first step in the agency’s plan to
repeal and replace the rule. The proposed
rule<https://www.epa.gov/wotus-rule/rulemaking-process> was filed in the
Federal Register yesterday. The public comment period is open until August 28,
2017. Let the agency know the importance of wetlands and headwater streams to
fish and aquatic resources. Your voice is critical. Submit comments to EPA
here<https://www.regulations.gov/comment?D=EPA-HQ-OW-2017-0203-0001>.

AFS joined with its partners in the Consortium of Aquatic Science Societies to
warn the EPA and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers of the far-reaching
implications to aquatic resources from repealing WOTUS and called for a
meaningful opportunity for stakeholders to engage to ensure the best available
science is considered. Read about it
