Hello,
My name is Jonathan Leiman and I work for the Maryland Department of the
Environment. Jake Rash from the Trout Technical Committee of the Southern
Division of the American Fisheries Society recommended I email the Instream
Flow Council (IFC).
I am reaching out to invite the IFC and colleagues to submit abstracts for the
upcoming coldwater/temperature symposium at the annual meeting of the American
Fisheries Society (AFS) this fall in Baltimore. It is looking like it will be
a hybrid in-person and virtual meeting. The details are below.
My program at MDE, along with Maryland DNR and the USGS researchers presented
at the Southern Division AFS meeting this spring on cold water issues. I am
hoping to carry some momentum forward for the national AFS meeting this fall to
generate increased awareness regarding cold water resource conservation in the
mid-Atlantic, USA and beyond. In addition, I wanted to make a request that if
you have partners/colleagues that would be interested in submitting abstracts
to let them know about the symposium. The submission period ends April 22.

We are trying to get as many types of speakers at the symposium as we can. Any
