Rock:

We have been passing additional silkscreen text to Allegro for sometime. We
added a silkscreen attribute to all leds, stab connectors, etc.. We have an
in-house program, that when run produces a silkscreen script and text files.
We replay the script file inside of Allegro and the Allegro designers use the
text file to place the additional text.

Subject: [PCB_FORUM] help on silkscreen

Hi,

I have a lot of pots in a board, and I need to label each pot's name and
its reference designator (e.g. R1 Vxxxx, R2 Vyyyy) on silkscreen. I don't
know if I can do silkscreening from schematic side (each pot's name is
passed onto layout ), and how?

Can anyone teach me how to do things like this? Also, when I tried to
auto silkscreen, why the "Component Value" cannot reflect the real value
in schematic (10K for example), rather it only displays as "VAL"?

I am running PSD 14.2 on Unix. Any help and hint would be greatly
appreciated, thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Rock
