Hi Chris,

I suppose it is advantageous in case of verry close vias : in some case «
standard » teardrop can not be generated and can be generated in curved
mode.

Or maybe other reason unwon of me.

Objet : [PCB_FORUM] Teardrop Shapes

Hi,

I’d like to find out more about the pros and cons of different teardrop
(tapered trace) shapes – long taper vs short taper, straight edge vs
curved edge. Why was the curved edge introduced, and under what
circumstances is it advantageous? Are there any good books or websites on
the subject?

Thanks,
