Alan,
For RS274x Gerbers,
In film Setup ,Disable the AntiEtch Visibility for all the Planes.Generate
the Gerber & Check it in GcPrevue or Viewmate.
For RS274D Gerbers,
In film Setup ,Enable the AntiEtch Visibility for all the Planes.

regards
Selva

My suggestion would be to use Advance Circuits. Their number is
800-979-4722. Talk to Jeremy at ext 316, and tell him Clyde from C&B gave
you the contact info. Doesn't do much good to use a quick turn board house
if they put the customer thru a bunch of nonsense, just because their
inhouse CAD guys can't deal with your data. I've used Advance Circuits for
more than 4 years now and consider them one of the best in the country.
Their rates are good, and their service is the best around.

    Alan,
I've had this exact problem in past "quick" designs.
Best option, from a time-line point of view, is to get rid of the
"anti-etch" lines, and define the shapes with their borders. Then you
can use the suppress shapes button. In future designs, I think you will
benefit by changing all of your "negative" layers to positive and using
the dynamic shapes. They take a bit to get used to, and I'm more than
happy help you out if you need, but they are more wysiwyg type of
designing. That's what we want, right?
Check it out Alan. I think you'll really appreciate the advantages of
    the positive dynamic shapes
    Good luck dude.

Subject: [PCB_FORUM] RS274X Artwork Generation Question

I'm doing a quick&dirty board to test out a concept and was planning on
going to one of the Internet quick-turn places (pcbexpress.com) for a
handful of prototype boards. (Using Allegro 14.2)

Normally, we would generate 6x00 artwork with a separate aperture file,
    but
pcbexpress wants RS274x artwork. No problem, I figure, just change
    Allegro
to generate RS274x and go for it.

    Well, not so fast, copper-on-fiberglass-breath...

The board has a split ground plane (DGND and CHASSIS). Normally, I
    would
set up the shapes to cover the holes/pins connected to the respective
    nets
and add anti-etch lines (class ANTI-ETCH, subclass GROUND) to form the
barriers between the shapes. Then plot as a negative plot with the
anti-etch turned on along with pins, vias and the etch layer with the
shapes, but tick the "suppress shape fill" option.

However, in RS274x, the "suppress shape fill" option is greyed out. No
problem with that, since the pins, vias, etc., plot with antipads or
thermals, depending on whether they're connected to the ground signals
    or
not. The problem is, my anti-etch lines don't plot at all, so there are
    no
barriers between my ground shapes. If I set the "shape bounding box"
    value
to something non-zero, I get a plotted shape outside my outer (CHASSIS)
shape the width that I specified.

This is thoroughly annoying, and I can't see that I am doing anything
fundamentally different from what works just fine with 6x00 artwork
    generation.

Anybody else have any bright ideas?
