Bill, If you have the voltages set up right (O V for GND and so on) this should work. It must have something to do with diff TLINEs I will have to try to do it as single ended, but I'm thinking it may screw it up when it sees resistors and capacitors not going to ground, and then refuse to assign the topology Thanks, Bill -----Original Message----- From: icu-pcb-forum-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:icu-pcb-forum-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Julian Ungureanu (jungurea) Sent: Wednesday, February 01, 2006 9:15 AM To: icu-pcb-forum@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [PCB_FORUM] Re: FW: [pcbforum] topology error with constraint manager 14.2 Sorry for not being more clear. In CM, go to Tools, then Options; the box is called "Include routed interconnect" (I am using 15.2 now, but 14.2 has the same thing if I remember correctly. Again , if I remember correctly 14.2 had an issues with that kind of asymmetric topology. Try this: do not assign diff pairs property to the net, then extract the net, add the rules, the go back and put diff pair props on it. See if that works. Is that in allegro or sigxp? the board was unrouted when I extracted the net. the topology I am trying to create has differential termination (r's and c's across the DIFF TLINE) How would you handle that single endedly? thanks for your help, Bill CadEnhance LLC. -----Original Message----- From: icu-pcb-forum-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:icu-pcb-forum-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Julian Ungureanu (jungurea) Sent: Wednesday, February 01, 2006 9:00 AM To: icu-pcb-forum@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [PCB_FORUM] Re: FW: [pcbforum] topology error with constraint manager 14.2 Bill, Was the "use routed interconnect" checked or unchecked when you extracted the topology? I don't think the tool likes that. If you don't use that topology for simulation, single ended drivers are just fine for using. Create one side and apply to both nets. On your SigXp canvas you should see TLines not Strip (or microstrip) lines. Then you can import into CM. Interconnect must be represented with TLINES only. TRACES and VIAs are not allowed. I only have TLINES, resistors, capacitors and diff driver/receivers in the topology. Does anyone know what this is about? Does 14.2 support Differential topologies? thanks, Bill O'Leary CadEnhance LLC. ----------------------------------------------------------- To subscribe/unsubscribe: Send a message to icu-pcb-forum-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with a subject of subscribe or unsubscribe To view the archives of this list please login at //www.freelists.org.
