I had your same error and this is what I changed, probably simpler method. added logomakerhelp.txt to skill folder moved lfc.exe to DLL's folder or same folder(C:\utils\LEADCMD\Bin) path files in env file changed to: set POTRACE_PATH = C:\utils\potrace-1.8.win32-i386 set LFC_PATH = C:\utils\LEADCMD\Bin in the logomaker_public.il file changed defvar(logoMaker_potracePath, getShellEnvVar("POTRACE_PATH") || "C:/utils/potrace-1.8.win32-i386") defvar(logoMaker_lfcPath, getShellEnvVar("LFC_PATH") || "C:/utils/LEADCMD/bin") my guess thanks again, Tripp Tucker PCB4Service ----- Original Message ----- From: ameehan@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx To: icu-pcb-forum@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, January 23, 2009 5:13:18 PM GMT -05:00 US/Canada Eastern Subject: [PCB_FORUM] Re: Converting files to DXF Thanks very much Bill. Hope you don't mind a question. Dave has been advising me on installation and use, but I keep running into one more snag, and I think Dave has gotten too busy to help me. I was wondering if you had seen this or know what setting I've evidently gotten wrong. Thanks for any advice! Below is the question I sent to Dave: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thank you! I got it to show in my "Place " menu: Place -> Bitmap Images , but when I click on the Bitmap Images menu, I get this error: E- *Error* strcat: argument #1 should be either a string or a symbol (type template = "S") - nil So I'm still doing something wrong. Any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Apologies for the hassle - I've never added a menu item, and usually just use the out-of -the-box Allegro with no additional skill programs, so I'm struggling a bit here. Thanks again. -----Original Message----- From: Dave Elder Sent: Jan 21, 2009 9:22 PM To: ameehan@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: LogoMaker Question Hi Alexis, That's good. It won't appear in your menus unless you add it to your allegro.men file yourself. This is the line that I put in our menu file: MENUITEM "Bitmap Images...", "logomaker" Cheers, Dave ameehan@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx wrote, On 22/01/2009 3:16 p.m.: Thank you, yes, my skill path was incorrectly updated. Now that I've fixed it, I can see that it's loading the logomaker code. So my next question is under which menu can the Place Logo button be found? I'm looking in "Place", but not getting any clues. Thanks again for your help, this is a great program. -----Original Message----- From: Bill Dempsey Sent: Jan 19, 2009 6:41 PM To: icu-pcb-forum@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [PCB_FORUM] Re: Converting files to DXF Actually you don’t need DXF anymore. Dave Elder posted a BMP/JPG import routine on the Cadence Forum You can find the thread here: http://www.cadence.com/community/forums/T/10154.aspx Just follow the instructions and you’re off and running. It does a fine job of importing JPGs on to your board. It’s been a long time since I’ve had to do this, so can’t remember the tricks. I have a new company logo in .eps,.tif, .jpg, and .bmp formats. I need .dxf, .idf, or .iff in order to import to Allegro. I asked our ME’s to import the various formats into SolidWorks, and then export a .dxf from there, but the resulting .dxf is problematic. I’m getting a lot of errors having to do with polylines and mtext. Any clues? Thanks in advance.
