Tamara:

If you have the URL for the pilot program, all you have to do is navigate to
the site, bookmark it and then log in. Once you are logged in, navigate to
a book you might be interested in reading and click the link which says,
?Download, thus and such a book? and select save. Select which area you?d
like to book saved to, in this case, the import folder, and hit enter and
you?re good.

Hi Guys:

Thanks for all of your help. I actually have one more (for now that is)
question. Can someone give me the directions for how to set up the
BraillePlus so that I can download direct to the BP from NLS? I have a
stream so I know how to do it from the computer. And, yes, I?m already sign
up and have the keys from NLS for the BP.

Thanks,

Tamara

Hi Tamara,

Discovering that applications key and being able to multitask is like
finding a new treasure. I think you will really enjoy this feature. You are
correct that the applications key is the long key at the top.

When you refer to the apps key are you referring the long key at the top of
the unit? I think that I have been using the cancel key for everything.
For instance, if I am in the music player I would tap the cancel key which
would stop the song and close the program. I would then move to another
program.

Tamara,

You can do this in a couple of ways. if you want to see a list of running
applications, you can press and hold the Applications key to launch the Task
Manager. Wen you're in the list of running applications, you can press
Select on the one you want to switch to, and you'll be switched to that. If
you press the Applications key quickly to get to the Applications Menu while
in another application, it does not close that application, only takes it
out of focus. So, you can switch to another application by pressing the
Applications key, and typing the numbers of the application you want to
open. So, let's say you have the Music Player open and you want to write a
document in the Word Processor.

While in the Music Player, press Applications key. Type 5, 2 for the Word
processor. Write your document. Now, you decide you want to skip the song
that's playing in the Music Player, so want to go back to it. Press Apps
key again and type 2 for Music Player. Notice you don't get the program
opening sound. This is because Music Player is still open. When you press
2, you'll be placed in the Music Player and can press right Arrow to move
forward a track, or whatever you want to do. When you're done there, leave
music Player open and press Apps key again, type 5, 2 to get back to Word
Procesor. Focus returns to Word Processor at the very point you were in
your document when you switched to Music Player. To actually close an
application, you need to press Cancel. Otherwise that application stays
open and takes up memory. Having said that, you should be able to run
several applications simultaneously and can switch among any of them in the
manner described.

Hope this helps,
Jenny

Hi List:

I notice a lot of people discussing how they send email and listen to music
at the same time etc. How do you switch to another function while you
remain open in the current one? I have had multiple functions open, but it
has usually been by accident. When I press the apps key to go to another
function, it usually closes the one I?m in. So how do I keep say the music
player open while going to the word processor or email or anything?
