Chase,
I can't test it now because my opml file export is broken since I
updated but believe you need to press okay instead of select at
the end to get it exported. I think I ran into the same problem
early on because there are so many places where either select or
okay will work but some places one or the other is required.

I have had something similar, that has always happened, no matter
of the
version of software. I select the OPML format, and press select,
but it
doesn't actually save the file.

I added and manipulated a few news and podcast feeds today and
decided to export the current list but ran into a problem. I'm
using version 1.1 build 1 on a Braille Plus. I got through the
process of selecting the directory to save the file to and
entered a name but when the unit prompted me to select o p m l,
where I would normally just press the okay button, it quickly
dropped back into the feed list of the rss program before I could
press okay and didn't save anything. Is this a known bug?
