yes, you can do this.  when you create an appointment, press select on 
"appointment repeats" and choose weekly repetition type.  You'll first be asked 
to type the number of the amount of weeks you want to skip between each 
appointment with the default set to 0.  If you want the appointment to repeat 
every week, leave this set to 0.  arrow below this and there's a list of days 
of the week.  Press Select to check or uncheck whether you want the appointment 
to repeat on that day.  this should work for your purposes.
