This whole thread is a good example of where a subject change should have been made when the e-mail error was no longer being discussed, but rather what is or is not a good wireless connection. Perhaps in the future, we could all work on attending to this a bit more carefully. I know the person who was having the actual e-mail errors must have gotten very frustrated opening messages that seemed to be about the errors, only to find they were not. Just my opinion. A -70 would be a weaker signal than a -40. I have seen it work with -72, but that is weak. So a negative 30 is a much better connection to a negative 75. -----Original Message----- From: icon-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:icon-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of David Poehlman Sent: Saturday, July 21, 2007 5:18 PM To: icon-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [icon-discuss] Re: E-mail error as I understand it, -75 is actually better than -30. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kurt Potter" <kurtshopping@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <icon-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, July 21, 2007 1:23 PM Subject: [icon-discuss] E-mail error Hi all, I am trying to help someone set up there new Braille Plus to send and receive e-mail. The receive works fine, but when trying to send we get the following error. smtp auth not supported by server We have the settings the same as their other wireless device, so we can not figure out the problem. Also another concern is the connection is never better than -75 but the other device connects at around -30 to -40. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix the e-mail error? Or to improve the signal? Thanks, Kurt
