Ok, I figured out that the problem is only occurring with the docking
station, not with the Icon itself. On the Icon, the arrow keys do move line
by line when reading is paused. When I pause Continuous Read on the docking
station, however, the arrow keys simply change the reading speed. I'm not
sure what's going on there.

If you hit pound with the volume setting control you get the speed to go
up and down, but any thing else does not turn up speed. Are you hitting
the select key to stop? (the one in the middle of the arrow keys)?

I've noticed it with both the User's Guide and the Help documentation,
and also (if I remember correctly) with other books I've been reading. I
had this problem with one of the Beta releases, and after downloading
Build 40 yesterday, I still have the same situation.
Since I don't yet have many of the commands memorized, I wonder if I'm
doing something incorrectly. I press Select to pause the reading, but
when I press Up or Down arrow, the Icon changes the reading speed,
instead of reading the previous or next line.

I have one other question. When I pause Continuous Read, how do I

slowing down the reading? I thought that when reading was paused, the

keys were supposed to read the previous and next line, rather than
