I'm using Windows XP on my computer and Version 1.06 bill 21 software on my Braille+. Thanks. It would really be nice to, if possible, discover why I'm having this rather unique problem. I can live with it but wonder why I'm having a problem with my unit that appears to be so unusual.

What version of the softwhere on the Braille Plus are you using, and what operating system on the PC?

Hi All, Hope I'm not asking a question which has come up before. Please forgive if I'm doing so. When I first got the Braille+, I closed out all other drives in the unit, went into disk drive mode, and when I connected the USB cable to my PC, I was able to copy the music I wanted to copy from my computer to the Braille+. However, when plugging into the USB, I didn't hear the familiar C G notes to tell me I was connected, and when I went into My Computer, it appeared that the Braille+ was not totally being seen by my computer. After repeating these same steps on another computer and getting the same results, I was totally at a loss until just last week when I decided that perhaps the braille keyboard mode needed to be turned off. I had not used the control L command to do this at any other time when trying to perform this task. Once I turned the braille keyboard mode off and repeated the steps of plugging the Braille+ into my PC's USB port, I did indeed hear the C G notes telling me that the computer saw the Braille+, and I was able to go into my computer and see the drive. Have any others of you found this to be the case? In looking at the manual, I didn't see mention of turning the braille keyboard mode off before trying to connect the Braille+ to the PC, and I'm thinking such a reminder would be helpful for not especially technical folks such as me if this is indeed the case that one needs to remember this step in the process. Thanks for any comments, and hope this isn't seen as a really dumb question. By the way, in case it might be of interest, I got fantastic recordings of vinyl from my stereo with the Braille+. Many thanks. Linda Gehres
