The Internet book search application uses a different server from those at
Bookshare. This alternate server is run by Levelstar, and is currently down.
Thus, you can still access Bookshare via the web, but can't use the book
search.

Okay folks any one else having a problem accessing bookshare? I have tried
Using internet book search all three author, title and category and get an
error. Yet the site is up and running I can access it from the standard
computer. Also, news stand seems to be working just find. Any ideas?

Hi,
It actually sounds like a microphone is open. When you say you are hearing
background noise; do you mean you hear you talking, or clearly noise that
someone is making in the room?
If so, that sounds like the microphone is still active, or perhaps the plug
isn't in tightly enough.
Do you open the strap covering the mini-sd slot when you plug in the cable?
I've noticed that the strap sometimes prevent the plug from going in all the
way.

I hope that helps, though if the microphone is picking stuff up even when
you have it set to external microphone, something could be wrong with the
unit.

Richard

That is the type of cable I am using which brings me a lot of background
noise from around the house. I wonder if another kind of cord would be
better? Or is there something that I need to adjust in my levels.
