Hello all, I have noticed this since at least the most recent 3 builds. The wireless radio is not consistent reliable. Sometimes it will connect, sometimes, although it sees my network, I have to do a reset to have it connect reliably. I initially didn't report it as I had an old router, but now mine is brand new and I still have the problem. Any thoughts? -----Original Message----- From: pdabeta-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:pdabeta-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Marc Mulcahy Sent: Thursday, October 15, 2009 4:10 PM To: icon-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Cc: public beta list for Icon and Braille+ Subject: [Pdabeta] 2.1 Released All: We have just released Icon and Braille+ software version 2.1, build 134. See below for what's new in this release. (Please note that if you are running 2.1.134 public beta, this is the same as that release, and there is no need to re-download it). Thank you to all of you who provided feedback on this relese during our public beta testing period. Best Regards, Marc Icon and Braille+ Revision History What's new American Printing House for the Blind, Inc. Revision History This list of changes outlines what is new about the operating procedures for Icon and Braille+. For details on how to use a feature listed, follow the link associated with that feature. Version 2.1, October 2009 * Improves braille display support while reading documents by hiding the cursor and moving the document's cursor to the beginning of the displayed line. This change makes it more intuitive to move the cursor without using the display's cursor routing keys. (In previous versions, the user could get confused after advancing through a document with the display panning keys then using a document navigation command. The cursor could be far from the reading position.) Now, the cursor is always at the display. * Automatically turns off grade II input when inserted into the docking station and returns the input setting back to the original setting when undocked. Calculator * Adds an option to present Answers as a fraction. * Adds a key, Ctrl+/ or hold OK, to toggle the current answer from a fraction to a decimal or from a decimal to a fraction. RSS Increases the speed of the RSS reader. Adds Recent Articles and Recent Podcasts to RSS's main menu. These two options show a single list of articles or podcasts from all feeds with the most recently aquired items at the top of the list. Calendar * Increases the speed of synchronization with Microsoft Exchange. * Adds settings to limit what Calendar imports from Exchange. * Adds import and export for iCal (ics) calendar files. Network * Shares the public and library/books/import folders automatically when the user turns on file sharing. * Provides each unit with a default unique network name consisting of the name of the product and the last three digits of the serial number. This name may be changed to the user's preference. * Improves Network Manager performance. Now, if the unit cannot connect to a wireless access point, it turns off the WiFi radio. * Adds a third outgoing protocol to email, SMTP with SSL. * Corrects a problem that prevented effective use of file sharing when browsing PCs from the unit itself. * Corrects a problem that prevented the user from playing audio content stored on the network. More fixes * Adds additional information to the Version Number item in the Status menu. * Corrects a problem that caused the "Keep Messages on Server" setting from working properly when using Email with a gmail account. * Corrects a problem that could cause the recorder to crash. * Corrects a problem that prevented books you downloaded from bookshare on your PC from unpacking properly when you placed them into the import folder. Tuner * Separates the Internet Tuner functionality from Music Player into its own program and improves performance. * Adds the ability to add custom presets to Tuner. * Adds Previous and Next Track commands (Pound+Left or Right Arrow) for those play lists that contain multiple tracks. * Selecting a .pls or .m3u playlist from File Explorer or Web Browser now opens Tuner with that playlist. _______________________________________________ Pdabeta mailing list Pdabeta@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://tech.aph.org/mailman/listinfo/pdabeta If you reply to this message it will be delivered to the original sender only.
