You can optionally choose to put your recordings in one of three places: the flash disk, the hard disk, or a Mini SD card. I recommend putting recordings on the hard disk, unless you can't stand the noise of the drive itself in the recording. If you are recording with an external mic, drive noise is much less of a factor.
Putting recordings on the hard disk has two advantages: 1. You will most likely not run out of space while recording. 2. You can use disk drive mode to move the recordings to the PC.While in the list of recordings in the recorder, use the left and right arrows to select where new recordings are placed.
To move your old recordings from the flash disk to the hard disk, take the following steps:
1. Start file explorer. (Apps Menu, 6, 2)2. Locate the item called "Internal Flash Disk" with the down arrow, and press the right arrow to open it.
3. locate the folder called "home" with the up/down arrows and press right arrow to open it. (You can also type the first few letters of "home" to get there quicker.)
4. Locate the folder called "root" and press right arrow to open it.5. Locate the folder called "recordings" and press right arrow to open it.
6. Move to each recording in the folder and press the pound (#) key. This will select the recordings so we can copy them to the hard disk.
7. Press the left arrow several times to move back to the "available drives" prompt.
8. Select the hard drive and press the right arrow to open it. 9. Locate the recordings folder and press the right arrow to open it. 10. Hit the menu key and choose the "Move Selected Here" option. Rob

I recorded a couple of hours of audio the other evening. I want to remove the files from the Braille Plus and copy them to my hard drive on my main PC. I don't know where it has placed these files. Plus, if I try to record anything else, it tells me the Flash drive is full and I need to delete e-mail and files. I've not set up e-mail and would delete the files if I could just find them to copy them off to my PC. Sorry, but I'm a bit confused right now. <grin> -----Original Message----- From: icon-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:icon-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of David Poehlman Sent: Sunday, June 17, 2007 9:48 AM To: icon-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [icon-discuss] Re: Deleting Files or just press the star key and answer yes. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Brian" <techman61@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <icon-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, June 17, 2007 6:16 AM Subject: [icon-discuss] Re: Deleting Files Hello Keith Select the file or article or whatever and then bring up your options menu and select the "delete file choice. Hi, How do we delete files that we don't want any more? When pointing
at a
news paper article or pod cast, I have tried pressing the * key, but
I
am not able to confirm the deletion. When pressing the select or
OK, it
loads the article. I have also tried to use space bar d and control d with no luck. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks, Keith __________ NOD32 2335 (20070616) Information __________ This message was checked by NOD32 antivirus system. http://www.eset.com
