There is not, but you can always hold down 0 and press volume up to increase
the volume of the audio relative to the speech synthesizer.

I am noticing that the audio level of NLS books is dramatically lower
than audio from Podcasts and other music mp3 files.
Is there a hidden audio adjustment for the player of the books
somewhere that I have missed?
