Hi Sue, I can't answer the question directly, but someone from APH or LevelStar certainly will. I can tell you, however, that the base operating system of the Icon and Braille Plus is Linux. This in itself makes the unit very difficult for the average spyware, virus, worm, adware, etc., to grab hold of the usual things these malicious programs look for on your system. Also one surfs the net through the unit's unique browser which increases the difficulty level for the hackers and script kitties out there a thousand fold. So, this is one area where the Icon BP will probably have very few problems. Until, that is, those hackers and script kitties out there start making it a pointed effort to move into the Linux arena. Which we can hope they never do, and which we Linux software people can easily prepare for and counter because we are the good guys and that all by itself makes us better programmers than them. :-) Get the Icon or BP when you can, you will love it.
