-----------------------MINUTES ---------------------------
Mike LaBonte conducted the meeting.
Call for IBIS related patent disclosures:
- None
Call for opens:
- None
Review of previous meeting minutes:
Minutes from the February 2, 2021 meeting were reviewed. Bob Ross moved to
accept
the minutes. Randy Wolff seconded. Without object the minutes were accepted.
ARs:
- Randy Wolff to ask Synopsys for Coverity report on IBISCHK7 source code
- Done
- Mike LaBonte to run IBISCHK7 regression tests with valgrind checking enabled
- Done. Some memory leaked, no other issues.
- Mike LaBonte to ask ANSYS for feedback on IBISCHK7 source code
- Done, but sent too late for feedback this meeting.
- Bob Ross to ask remaining IBISCHK7 source code licensees for feedback
- Not yet done. Bob was still waiting for feedback from Mentor and Keysight.
- Lance Wang to ask Zuken for IBISCHK feedback
- Done.
- Mike LaBonte to recompile TSCHK2 alpha without cygwin dependency, and fix for
impedance checking
- Done, but the impedance checking fix was not yet done. Mike asked others to
try the program he sent.
NEW ITEMS:
New parser bug reports:
None.
TSCHK 2.0.1 development:
Bob Ross said the version number printed by the program had not been incremented
to 2.0.1. Mike showed the TSCHK bug reports. For bug 3 he proposed setting
output
precision to match input precision. Frequencies would be treated separately
from
other values. Randy Wolff said some numbers were angle, etc., and they had
precision
requirements that would differ from magnitudes. Bob said there was usually no
need for
precision more than 4 or 5, except to avoid passivity/causality. Randy said
unusually
high or low reference impedances might cause precision trouble too. He felt
repeating
the input precision would work. Lance Wang said we could have command line
options, and
that engineering format might be better for saving space.
Lance asked if TSCHK2 would convert from one representation type to another.
Mike said
it did not. Bob thought it might. Mike showed the command line usage
documentation.
The only conversion commands were -canonical-v1 and canonical-v2. Mike said he
could
fix all 4 bugs, starting with 4 and 3. He expected to produce executables for
32-bit
Windows and 64-bit Linux.
AR: Mike LaBonte to update TSCHK2 for bugs 3 and 4
IBISCHK development:
IBISCHK 7.1.0 contract:
Bob Ross reported no update. He still needed to add BIRD200, and work on the
language
for BIRD202.
IBISCHK7 source code feedback:
Mike LaBonte showed feedback from Zuken. This made no specific request for
changes.
IBISCHK security fixes:
Mike showed the feedback from Synopsys. He said item #6 was serious, switch
statement
fall-through, even though it might not necessarily be a security issue. Randy
Wolff
was surprised that hadn't showed up as a bug. Bob Ross said it could show up
as a
crash with the right inputs. Randy had asked Synopsys to provide the full list
of
issues they found. Mike suggested asking if Synopsys could provide repeated
checks
during development. He also wished for a table of check types.
AR: Randy Wolff to request full static code analysis report from Synopsys
Interconnect model file checking
Mike LaBonte said the name of the topic had changed from IBIS-ISS checking, to
recognize that linkage to Touchstone files should also be checked.
Tabled topics (no discussion without motion):
- BIRD181.2
Bob Ross moved to adjourn. Randy Wolff seconded. Without objection the meeting
ended.
Meeting ended: 11:57 ET
