Hi Walter,
In the submitted BIRD211.1, I think the definition of "Combined" needs to be
amended to include the downstream information. Right now, the definition of
"Combined" only talks about the cumulative upstream response.
Thanks,
Curtis

[External Sender]
Walter,
Thanks for the new BIRD draft. I looked at the first two pages only, and
have the following comments/requests:
I would move the first flow drawing all the way up to the beginning of the
“Definition
of the issue” section, maybe after the first sentence. The first sentence
could say
something like this:
“The current Repeater flow in the IBIS specification can be described
graphically as follows:
[cid:image001.jpg@01D7361E.E6391B60]
This flow has the following issues:
1.
2.
3.”
To me it is confusing to have that drawing after the paragraph which talks
about what
this BIRD proposes…
For all the drawings, I would like to request that we should stay away from
“Upstream”
and “Downstream”. I thinks using “Channel 1 IR” and “Channel 2 IR” or its
abbreviated
form (“Ch1_IR” and “CH2_IR”) would be a lot less confusing. Obviously the text
should
also have the corresponding changes.
Least importantly, I would change the name of the first option to something
like “IBIS7.0”
or similar, more than just the number itself, because a number in itself could
mean a lot
of different things.
That’s it for now. Maybe more later…
Thanks,
Arpad
