I am enclosing a presentation explaining the problem to be solved, and I
have simplified BIRD 166 and enclosing BIRD 161.1 Draft 1.
The BIRD is significantly simplified, and in fact corrects two problems
with the current flow. The original problem was that the downstream Rx
(Rx2) was not getting all of the upstream channel, therefor could not
optimize itself correctly. The second problem is that if a Tx optimizes
itself it requires the combined effect of both the downstream channel, and
the upstream equalization.
