IBIS Interconnect Group: Here are some comments on Draft 13 that I had planned to discuss at the meeting. 1. Page 4. Change the .ipkg example name to all lower case (while linux is case sensitive, windows is not). Because the interconnect specification is for on-die and package descriptions, we might revisit the required extension, e.g., iid for IBIS Interconnect Description. Add "Sub-params:" in the header to header to be consistent with other keywords with subparameters. Delete Language since File_TS and File_ISS already designates the language. Besides, Language is used elsewhere with more arguments. For Unused_Terminal_Termination, and Number_of_Terminals, add "=" to the rules to be consistent with other subparameters that accept numerical arguments (e.g., Vinh = 2.0 versus Model_type I/O). So the syntax for these subparameters would be Unused_Terminal_Termination = 50.0 and Number_of_Terminal = 9 [Manufacturer] - Require since it is required for PKG and EBD formats. This would be for the generator of interconnect file (even though the file may have references to .iss or .ts files from other manufacturers (for packages). [Description] - Require since it is required in PKG format. ([Manufacturer] is illegal in EBD format.) This can be used to give topological information such as the package type or layout type such as Quad Flat Pack. 3. Page 5: After the sentence about base units of frequency and length, delete the next two sentences. There is no need for this added information. 4. Page 6: Change Buf_XRef to Buf_ExtRef. However, the exact terminology is still an open issue for everything. 5. Page 12: We should define the keyword [End Interconnect Model Selector] after the [End Interconnect Model] definition. Delete the NOTES section through bullet 4. This can be moved to the Analysis Path or the Other Back Ground Information section to document the reasons for the syntax.
