All,
This BIRD looks ok to me, but I am not sure we need to change the column
length
limits from 15 to 40 characters for the [Pin Mapping] *_ref columns. I
understand
the reason. However, the [Pin Mapping] *_ref columns are for POWER or GND
pin signal_names. I am not aware of any commercial device that uses more
than
15 characters in its POWER or GND signal name.
Because we also have a line limit of 120 characters, the increase to 40
characters
for each *_ref columns would theoretically exceed our line length limit..
So, unless someone can point to a practical need to increase the limit, I
would keep the 15 character limit to minimize parser work and to avoid the
the line length issue. (We could do the opposite, and automatically
impose a 15 character limit for any signal_name used as a bus_label)
(Note, some devices have more the 15 characters for the I/O signal
names, where the pin might be used in some dual mode and have two
joined names.)
