It makes me feel very very sad!
We met him in 2003 in China as IBAP keynote speaker and then again and again
many places around the world. Very enterprising and thinking person! Our
condolences to the family!!

Hello friends,
I had sent an email yesterday which didn’t come through.
This was to inform James’s friends and colleagues of the very sad news that
he died yesterday afternoon.
He was such a great champion of school libraries and IASL, the teacher and
mentor of many of us and a powerful influence in our profession.
Now there is an end to his suffering and his eight months in hospital.
He is survived by his wife Carmelita, four of his children and his
grandchildren.
I know many of us will be feeling tremendously sad about the passing of a
fine and kind man and a most encouraging mentor.
He has left a great legacy and we can honour his memory by continuing to
build on it.
Kindest regards,
Elizabeth Greef
