I would suggest that we go in other direction and push IASL communication
and activities online. Very few practicing teacher librarians have budget
to travel to conferences in distant locations and therefore, do not have
the opportunity to actively participate in IASL conferences and other
activities.

be considered is an exemption for officers for the registration fee. ANd
maybe some of the awards could be joint, so the amount helps the winner to

Hear, hear!
I totally agree with Daniel and Vanja.
I've put this on the agenda a couple of times when I had a position.

It is time ro reconsider the budgets (awards and association executive)
to avoid IASL becoming an association for people who can afford being a
member and take a position.

I cannot be present in Tokyo for the same reason (no budget for
travelling to the conference) and am willing to support a motion to create
budgets for officers.

I completely agree with Daniel and wanted to suggest same thing -
regional directors are limited in their actions and achievements without
any budget for the activities.

I hope we will discuss this in Japan and find good solutions.

Dear All,

I salutes Alberts efforts to ensure Jerry gets to IASL in Tokyo, I
however kindly urge IASL family to consider amending the rules on funding
to regional directors so as those from poor regions can receive atleast
basic flight support and accommodation for representation to annual iasl
events.I think this should form part of the change agenda at IASL this
coming election period,since its frustrating to realize that our regional
directors travel to IASL is not guaranteed as per now due to inability to
raise the travel costs.
We all know Africa and part of Asian are going through difficult times
financially and our regional directors country here in Africa(Zimbabwe) is
even worse as you all know.This funds could be Directors equalization
funds
so all directors of regions represented at IASL attend main conference.

In the meantime this is a call to the global IASL family to help our
regional director be part of IASL 2016.to represent us as a region.

Looking forward to good news from this wonderful school library
family......
