Hi,
To the best of my knowledge, Nektar Plus is what some rehabbers and zoological
institutions use. Problem is it does settle to bottom and needs to be shook up
and replaced often. It's also rather expensive.

Scott - thanks for the information on Gerber contents. The inclusion of iron is
very concerning, although like you, I don't know what level is actually toxic.
The internet is definitely not our friend with respect to circulation of
misinformation. I'm going to try to get ahead of this locally and will compose
an information piece about this topic for the RPBO web site, so with luck, any
locals who look there for more information will have a rebuttal.
Thanks to all for their comments and thoughts,

Looking at the ingredients list for this brand of baby formula
(https://medical.gerber.com/products/formulas/good-start-soothe; click on ;
"Medical Professional"), it contains 7.7mg of iron per 100g of powder. Whether
that represents a dangerous level of iron intake for hummers I can't say, but
it's an indication that focusing on the type of whey, as Davis did, is missing
the bigger picture.
