I hope you don’t mind me getting in touch with you out of the blue –
my name is Alistair and working on a new nature documentary series for
the BBC. For the series we’re interested in filming migrating
hummingbirds using tree sap (from sapsucker wells) as a vital resource
on their migration north. I’m in the process of researching out to
experts and enthusiasts all across the ranges of both rufous and ruby
throated hummingbirds in case this behaviour has been seen regularly
or reliably.
If you happened to have any experience of this in Idaho and thought it
might be able to seen with some reliability then I’d love to hear from
you!
