It was another low year for Ruby-throated Hummingbirds, this time due to
the loss of 3 banding sites where the homeowners moved away, which was a
source for about 20% of all Ruby-throats banded each summer. It was also
the lowest year for Rufous Hummingbirds in the region since I began banding
in 2001.
