BIG NEWS! FREE CHIC-A-GO-GO DOWNTOWN MILLENNIUM PARK DANCE PARTY THIS
THURSDAY!
SPECIAL GUESTS URBAN DEFINITION, YURI LANE & THAX DOUGLAS!
Join us at the world famous Pritzker Pavillion at the North end of
Millennium Park (near Randolph between Michigan Avenue and Columbus Drive)
for THE CHIC-A-GO-GO BACK TO SCHOOL DANCE PARTY! Dancers (and gawkers)
of all ages are invited to spend the early evening with Miss Mia,
Ratso, and your fellow Chic-A-Go-Go dancers! As part of Millennium Park?s
"The Last Hurrah of Summer," August 31 is "Dance Day in Millennium Park."
All day there will be fun dance programming with the Old Town
Jitterbugs, ALYO Children's Dance Theatre, Chicago Latin Street Dance Company,
and The Brickhedz breakdance crew. Dance Day will end with a special one
hour Chic-A-Go-Go dance party at 6:30pm! Dancers are invited to dance
in the aisles and on stage with Miss Mia and Ratso! In addition to
dancing to some of the best songs ever (and laughing at Ratso?s awesome
jokes), we also will have some incredible special guests! We welcome local
rap sensations URBAN DEFINITION, a group of high school students who
spent the summer working with the Chicago Urban League to release their
first CD and perform a series of concerts. We?ll also have YURI LANE,
the internationally acclaimed human beat box who has performed in Hip Hop
theater festivals around the globe. And finally, we will give a big
Chic-A-Go-Go bon voyage to THAX DOUGLAS, the rock ?n? roll poet who is
about to move out of town!
Dance Day performances take place on the stage of Frank Gehry?s
acclaimed Jay Pritzker Pavilion, the most sophisticated outdoor concert venue
of its kind in the United States, and are admission free. For more
