Hey all,
So Mike and I are building a plane for Red Bull Flugtag, which is coming to
Boston for the first time this year on August 20th. If you don't know what
Flugtag is, it's a 30+ team competition involving designing, building, and
piloting a glider taken off at running speed from a 30ft tall platform and
trying to fly as far as possible over a body of water. It's really

Just wanted to bring it to people's attention now that our team, the MIT
Monkey Ballers, has been officially selected! We'll be keeping everyone
posted with updates and pictures on our Facebook
<https://www.facebook.com/FlugtagMonkeyBallers> . And we'd love for as many
people as possible to come out to the Hatch Shell on August 20th to watch!
Also, we just started our fundraising round today, available at our
CrowdFund <https://crowdfund.mit.edu/project/2152> . We're giving out
Monkey Baller t-shirts and also offering ad space at our hangar or on the
airplane itself for different donation amounts. All you need is a credit
card and because we set it up through MIT, its actually a tax deductible
donation supporting education. If you feel like supporting us, Mike and I
would be extremely appreciative! As it turns out, carbon fiber is somewhat
expensive.
And if any of the mechanically minded stage builders and designers has more
questions about competition details or our design plans, we're happy to nerd
out for a while! It's a very cool engineering challenge.
Hopefully I can build a plane better than I can load .38 super, not happy to
have the moonclip back in my possession.
